Space Rentals
The History Museum of Western Virginia and the O. Winston Link Museum share building space with Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge at 101 Shenandoah Ave. NE, Roanoke, Va. The location has attractive rental space for events. The property, a renovated historic passenger station, is well located across from Hotel Roanoke and near the pedestrian overpass to downtown. Views are to downtown and trains.

Following are rental opportunities.
Norfolk Southern Lobby
Up to 150 people standing and approximately 60 seated
This space is perfect for a dinner, wedding reception or rehearsal, fundraiser or company party. There is ample room for a band, D.J., and many table configurations. If requested, an event in this space can include a tour of the museums.
$950.00 Standard fee; $800.00 for non-profit groups
Fee includes Security, Cleaning Staff and On-site Staff Person
Deposit Required: $500
Caterers must be from the approved list (available for download on this site)
Galleries
$250 – Up to 250 People
Your group can stroll through the exhibits while listening to live music or the sounds of steam. The rental fee includes access to all galleries. Guided tours are available upon request for an additional fee. We ask that food and beverages are not consumed in galleries, but can be accommodated elsewhere.

Trackside Lobby & Theater
$250 – Up to 60 people
The General Electric Transportation Theater is great for your company lecture, town hall meeting or press conference. The theater seats 60 people and includes a projector and laptop hookup for your presentation. DVD players are available. (Sorry, no cable or satellite access.) The adjacent Trackside Lobby space offers the perfect setting for a reception prior to or after your event.

General Guidelines:
- Rear of main lobby has some setup space, access to a free gallery Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Therefore, event setup cannot take place in the Norfolk Southern Lobby before 5 p.m. With prior approval, deliveries may be made to the building earlier and stored on the lower level of the building.
- A signed contract must be on file before an event is secured.
- Inquiries to the Historical Society of Western Virginia (which operates the museums) about possible space reservations will be held for 14 days. If notice is not given within the 14 days, Museum personnel will release the date.
- After notification of site rental, clients must sign the appropriate contract and pay a non-refundable deposit for the space.
- Accidents must be reported immediately to a Museum staff member.
- The Society reserves the right to ask anyone to leave the premises who is behaving in an inappropriate manner such as: swearing, causing damage to the inside or outside of the Norfolk & Western Passenger Station Building, RVCVB space, violating ABC regulations, or causing damages to the Link Museum Galleries.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the galleries.
- The Museum cannot remove or change any gallery exhibits.
- Additional charges will be levied if cleanup is not completed.
- Clients that will sell or serve alcohol are required to obtain an ABC License from the local Alcoholic Beverage Control Office. Go to www.abc.state.va.us to apply for your license.
